The R & D center has four functional areas of "office area, material testing area, technology center and pilot production workshop", covering an area of 2610 square meters; advanced and complete R & D instruments and equipment; 65 R & D personnel, 21 with bachelor degree or above, 3 with master's degree and 18 with intermediate or above titles, including 5 with senior titles.

The "center" closely focuses on the three major tasks of "research and development, demonstration and promotion" of manganese deep processing engineering technology and the overall goal of compound talent training base. It takes the downstream products of manganese as the key research object, and takes the integrated technology of "metal powder forging technology, metal nitriding technology and metal powder bonding technology" as the support, and focuses on the cooperation with Jishou University and Beijing University of Science and Technology, the key technology and common technology of manganese deep processing are researched and developed.

The main research and development direction of the "center" is the research and development of downstream products of manganese. In particular, the research and development of new technology of manganese alloy technology and products will cultivate new economic growth points.

In recent years, the "center" has achieved fruitful research and development results. The "center" has successively obtained 2 authorized invention patents, 2 provincial-level scientific and technological achievements, 1 national key new product, and 1 first prize of the prefecture-level scientific and technological progress award. To achieve 3 transformation of scientific and technological achievements, the "center" relying unit "Fengda Science and Technology" takes the lead in undertaking 1 national science and technology support plan project.
